Forging Ahead as a Sought-after Practitioner and Researcher in Society
In the Graduate School of Psychology, we not only train clinical psychologists as highly-specialisted professionals, which has been a mission accomplished by its predecessor, the Graduate School of Humanities, but also certify Public Psychologists who are equipped with both research and practical skills in the field of psychology. For this reason, this graduate school has carefully staffed with educational personnel specialized in both theoretical and basic areas, as well as practical and clinical areas.
Psychology Major
The Master's program offers two tracks: ① General Psychology and ② Clinical Psychology. At the time of application, applicants select one of these tracks. In the General Psychology track, students deepen their research under the guidance of full-time faculty members across wide-ranging domains such as Experimental Psychology (Perception, Cognition, Memory, Learning), Neuropsychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology. The Clinical Psychology track is certified as a "Type 1 Graduate School for the Training of Clinical Psychologists" by the Japanese Certification Board for Clinical Psychologists, thus, graduates are granted eligibility to take the clinical psychologist examination. Moreover, both the General Psychology and Clinical Psychology tracks offer a curriculum corresponding to the qualifications of a Public Psychologist, a national license required for psychology professionals.
