Art and Design is not just a result of self-expression. Artists feel and receive their inspiration and desire from people and society, then forge them into shapes which appeals to people’s eye and sense of touch. Art becomes a message to society that connects people to people, so to speak. On the other hand, there are various ways to deliver the message. Some are planar arts such as paintings, others are tridimensional arts such as pottery or glass arts. Alternatively, a more appropriate medium of expression for your talent can be found in subjects or space, or even a mix of both which is rooted in our living life. The school of Art and Design provides a course system instead of establishing a department for each area of art. This is because we know that the name of a department sometimes leads students to have preconceived ideas or established notions towards that area of art which can disturb a free minded attitude toward expression. We provide as many as 11 courses ranging from fine arts to industrial design. Students are encouraged to take several courses. We believe students can find their best medium of expression through this system.
